Thousands of assets. Multiple sites. Different teams, and a contractor or two. Most organizations can say what equipment they own and where it is. Far fewer can say, for every item, who governs it. When an inspection is overdue, maintenance is incomplete, a certificate has expired or a pre-use check has failed, the question that matters is who owns the issue. Without an answer, issues sit unowned.

In RiConnect, the Enterprise sits at the top and keeps the overall view, including how many assets each Tenant governs. Each Tenant is its own governance unit: it governs its own assets and decides who works with them. A Tenant follows governance, not organizational labels, so it can represent a subsidiary, site, business unit or contractor scope.
Tenants are isolated from one another. They cannot query, monitor or edit each other’s information, so a contractor works within a defined scope instead of holding broad access.
ERP and EAM systems hold the asset list, but they are not built for field-level asset integrity and compliance evidence. RiConnect records the pre-use checks, inspections, maintenance and calibration, and the Tenant model says whose responsibility each result is. When a pre-use check fails, the Tenant that governs the asset is known, while the Enterprise keeps the overall view. Tenants govern their own assets, and the Enterprise keeps the big picture.
The model is built for heavy and critical industries where large asset populations, safety and compliance meet: oil and gas, energy, utilities, construction and manufacturing, among others.
